Mackinac Island Trip Fundraising – JUST UPDATED!!!!

There are many opportunities for students to raise money to go on the Mackinac Trip. Check out the dates and activities to see if you might be able to participate. Students who participate will be able to chip away at the expense of the trip. Attend one or all if you wish. Now is the time to put in your effort toward the trip. There will be no more fund raising chances after the school year starts…(back to school…ahhhhhhhhh!!!!)


  • HPS Golf Outing volunteers are needed for Tuesday, July 20 at Craig’s Cruisers (note location change from last year).  Volunteers will assist families with sign in, golfing, etc.  HOPA will receive a stipend for providing volunteers for this event, which will be evenly divided among those volunteering.  Reply to cathyb810@comcast.net to sign up for a shift:  10:30am-12:30pm, 12:30-2:30pm, 2:30-4:30pm, 4:30-6:30pm, or 6:00-8:00pm.  When you arrive, go to the check in table and tell them you are there to volunteer for orchestra, and they will have a sign-in sheet for you to initial so we know you were there.
  • Pop Can/Bottle Drive — Tuesday, July 27, 6:00-8:45pm. Meet at the oval at Holland High School, and bring 5-6 large garbage bags.  Parents will drive groups of students to neighborhoods to collect cans, then to a store to cash them in.  All money collected will be evenly divided among those participating in the can drive.
  • HPS Family Bowling volunteers are needed for Wednesday, August 18 at Century Lanes.   • Car Wash — Saturday, August 28, 10am-1pm. Save the date!  A post will come your way in early August with more details and shift information.
  • Hi Symphony Students and Parents,
    We have another fundraising opportunity for you…
    COUPON CARDS — For those who may be interested, we will have Froggy’s/84 East/8th Street Grille coupon cards available for you to sell.  The cards have a selection of discount offers for each of these three restaurants.  The cards sell for $20 each, and for every card you sell, your Mackinac account will be credited with $10.  The sale will run for two weeks, July 13-27.  Cards and money MUST be turned in by July 27.
    If you would like to participate in this fundraiser, come to the HHS oval on Tuesday, July 13 at 6:30.  Mrs. Woudenberg and Mrs Brock will be there to sign out some cards to you to sell.  You will be financially responsible for the cards and the money you collect.  If you lose the cards or money, you will still have to pay for them.
    If you cannot come on the 13th and would still like to sell the cards, call Mrs Woudenberg at 392-2923.
    HPS GOLF OUTING — If you plan to volunteer at this event, please reply to cathyb810@comcast.net ASAP and tell us which shift you will work. The first shift (10:30-12:30) is full; the other shifts are: 12:30-2:30, 2:30-4:30, 4:30-6:30, 6:00-8:00.  We need to know if you will be coming!  If you have already signed up, either at the meeting or via email, thank you!
